• Can I use the app without an Apple Music subscription? No. Mixtape is a companion app for Apple Music specifically. The playlists and ratings Mixtape manages are Apple Music-specific concepts, so without a subscription there is nothing for it to show or change.
• The app says “Nothing Playing”, but something is playing. Make sure that the Apple Music app is playing the track. A song playing in another app — Spotify, YouTube, a podcast player, etc — will not appear in Mixtape.
• Where is my playlist? Only playlists you can edit are listed, so a shared or subscribed Apple Music playlist will not appear. If the playlist was created by you and still isn’t listed, visit Settings › Playlist Visibility to check if the playlist is hidden.
• Why did the order of my playlists change? By default, Mixtape shows you your playlists sorted by last updated, which will change as you add tracks to playlists. You can update the sort order using the sort action, next to the search bar used for filtering your playlists.
